ESRI Resource Center Is Available

July 9th, 2008 · 3 Comments · GIS

Last week I assumed one could access the new 9.3 resource centers, but it appeared that unless you were part of the 9.3 beta, you could not log in. Jason Stewart noted in the comments that you can now access them without your beta program login.

The Geoprocessing Center is still in ‘coming soon’ status.

    Note to Users on Licensing..
“We [ESRI] no longer use the FLEXlm v7.0 Licensing system used with previous versions of ArcGIS. With ArcGIS 9.3, the FLEXlm License manager has been upgraded to Macrovision’s FLEXnet Publisher v11.4. As a result, you will no longer be able to use your existing license server for the ArcGIS Desktop 9.3 and ArcInfo Workstation 9.3 products”
NOTE: When using the 9.3 LMTOOLS GUI, you will see a Borrowing tab. License borrowing is not enabled for the ArcGIS 9.3 release. We plan to enable this feature for a post 9.3 release.

Access seems to come and go. I have alternately accessed it without a password last week, with a password this week, and was told it was being updated and would return soon yesterday. So it seems to be a little less then stable at this point.

You have to give ESRI credit for their website.
The User Forums have saved me countless times, the EDN website has taught me a fair bit, particularly the videos on the Media Exchange. Having the majority of the documentation online also has helped me out a lot. This Resource Centre looks great - good structure and navigation from what I have seen so far.
