ArcGIS 9.3 Beta

March 20th, 2008 · 8 Comments · ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Engine, ArcGIS Explorer, ArcGIS Image Server, ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS, ArcObjects, ESRI, ESRI Developer Network

I don’t think there is anything wrong swinging by the office on the way home from the Developer Summit to pick up the 9.3 Beta disks to install tonight while I watch UCLA destroy Mississippi Valley State. My wife just doesn’t understand me but I’m happy with who I am.

Lets see, I have my .NET Sombrero beer hat and cigar. I’m ready to install the ArcGIS Beta

Nice … Keep us posted with your assessment of the most useful (vs. useless) features. Let me know if they are ever going to fix the Tabulate Areas tool. I’ve been comparing results of using 9.2 with ArcView 3.3. ArcView 3 does “Tabulate Areas” correctly and 9.2 still does not.

I’ll check on that. I can’t recall seeing anything about it.

We’ll be waiting for your thoughts on the difference from 9.2 from both the user and developer perspectives. Hopefully you’ll be using Vista.

Any idea on how to apply for 9.3 beta? I cant find a link (Im in UK)

Also, is 9.4 happening? ESRI UK mentioned a number of things being fixed for the 10.0 release

I hear the whole geoprocessing framework has been entirely re written for 9.3. It should fix a whole lot of small issues. bring it o n!! Through MS Vista is a pig dog dressed in imitation pink silk. Vista has issues holding it’s own.. you can keep that rubbish.. I love the beer hat.

I want to know if ArcGIS Server 9.3 for the Java platform supports mobile client.
Otherwise what is there the possibility of developing mobile applications on the Java platform and how?

I’m waiting for reply because it’s very important for me.

    Thank you

    Hinda,
what do you need for mobile client. There is no direct mobile solution in Java. Do you think only on rendering?
