Database Issues

February 21st, 2008 · 11 Comments · Uncategorized

Looks like I’ve run out of disk space with my blog and the database is confused. Comments seem to have disappeared and reappeared at will. On top of it, my son seems to have given me his flu cold (I took one for the team and stayed home with him today, but I’m beginning to feel the affects). I’ve done some things to get it working again, but given that I’m probably down for the count tonight and tomorrow if things go wrong again, the blog might look bare. Rest assure all comments are backed up so nothing will be lost. Wish me luck on the cold (flu shots don’t work, it is all a conspiracy by the government to get a RFID implanted into your skin).

All the best to you and young one.

It is the Hanta virus actually ;) But yeah, was reading a report the other day that the flu shoot has been all but useless this flu season.

As for the database space issues.. maybe you need to limit the length of posts to novella length.

@Chad: Perhaps that would be an authoritative invocation of Dimitri’s Law.

But wouldn’t that cause the heat death of the Universe though?

Hope things are better today James.. I am home with both of mine today… but that is because they have, yet again, another snow day. They seem to almost average one a week.. it is only 3″ of snow right now and only 10″ expected.. I walked uphill, barefoot, both ways to go to school in 10 FEET of snow!

    ;~)

    Flu?? In Arizona??

It has been an unusually cold winter in the state. Lots of precipitation as well, which is rather good news in what was a sustained drought.

    Get well James.

@Ben R.: What is considered a drought when you’re already in the desert?

  • 8 KoS // Feb 22, 2008 at 8:59 am

@Ben…I was being a smart ass with the comment. :)

Alot of precipitation may be a good thing short term. Long term, it may be harmful. At least in y’alls area of the country.

More water, more plant growth. Gets dry again, more tender for fire.

I hope y’all still pumping the extra water back in the aquaifers. For those not so raining days. :)

You didn’t get a flu shot. Your RFID isn’t on the tracking map. :-)

  • 10 FMHD // Feb 23, 2008 at 8:05 pm

No - James avoided the RFID, but thanks to Open Layers we are now able to map all those $20 bills in real time (…and all your web traffic…..in the name of Freedom, of course.)

Sleep safe. Hope you feel well soon, James…

    Sincerely,

RFID and Flu shots? I thought Agent Mulder discovered that it was the smallpox vaccines?
