    The infamous WAPPPGOO platform.

    No .NET
    No ESRI

What are you up to James?

  • 3 Cellulose // Nov 5, 2007 at 9:27 pm

Doh. I picked 100% for this one. Guess that’s why I don’t gamble.

    James,

That’s a compelling compensation package you offer in the photo. ;)

Hey, I know some of those technologies.

    Kos,

Those other states are called “layovers”.

  • 9 James Fee // Nov 6, 2007 at 9:16 am

Do you all want a big hug?

  • 10 KoS // Nov 6, 2007 at 11:06 am

    Cell….or “flyover” country. :)

    oooooo….group hug time!!

    KoS

  • 11 Cellulose // Nov 6, 2007 at 11:12 am

I only want the hug if it’s a “welcome aboard” hug accompanied with a job offer. :-D

My employer won’t pay the extra $12 to “flyover” those exta “states” since they know I’m salaried.

An extra 3 hours stuck in New Bern is “free”.. ;-)

that’s a nice wishlist. I guess a couple of companies would be glad to find a person with that backgound knowledge.
but what means “knowledge” and “experience” (read about? ;)

I think he wants someone who has built applications using OpenLayers and PostGIS and at least has an idea how that FeatureServer stuff works.

Its all beyond me, but I have to say I’m interested in seeing how this move goes for James. I’ll be honest, I’m tired of paying through the roof for our ESRI server products. I’d rather take that money and put it to ArcMap extensions.

    James

Just run into this post today. We have all the skills…..but pity we do not reside in the requisite areas :( When, Oh when will geograpical borders not become an issue with delivering fantastic GIS applications (ha ha!)

Possibly one day, but my company wants its “GIS Center of Excellence” (not my name) in Tempe.

  • 17 KoS // Jan 28, 2008 at 11:32 am

    hahhaa “GIS Center of Excellence”

The state govt calls their little office the same.

Wonder where else the term is being used?

    @KoS

I have a swear jar on my desk for using the terms “consuming” and “rich client”. I must have hundreds of dollars in there by now.

Annoying buzzwords. Now there’s a topic for an open thread if I’ve ever heard one….

Might crash your server though. ;)

Now that is a great idea Bill…
