Haven’t had a chance to try it out yet, but those with the SpaceNavigator and ArcMap 9.2 might want to take a look at the work Jiro Shirota has done.

OK. This is my own temporary solution until ESRI or 3Dconnxion releases the “official” driver. I just love SpaceNavigator, and I couldn’t wait. I tested this “beta” driver using ArcMap 9.1 and 9.2, and it seems to work. It does start getting hiccups when you have many (or large) layers, though. I included the source code in the zip file, so if you know how to extend ArcMap using ArcObjects, please experiment with it. Let me know if you have a better solution. The installer included in this zip file is a standard Windows installer, so if something goes wrong, you can go to Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs and remove this program completely. This is not a commercial product. There’s no support for this. Please use it at your own risk.
Thanks!

Thanks Jiro,
I’ll try to get one and test your driver. We use the purview software and it would be fantastic if we could use this device/driver in ArcMap for stereoscopic 3D digitalization !

Very cool! I was going to look at something like this over the weekend but I am very happy to see someone already has. Do you think it hiccups because ArcMap reloads everytime you move? It would be cool to see how the SpaceNavigator would perform on an application like Intergraphs GeoMedia, something that caches? Anyone?
