Customers Are Beginning to Receive ArcGIS 9.2

November 13th, 2006 · 21 Comments · ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Engine, ArcGIS Explorer, ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS, ArcObjects, ArcSDE, ESRI, GIS

ArcGIS 9.2 is showing up to positive reviews. UPS still hasn’t shown up with my copy yet, though it could be due to my high customer number.

ESRI ArcGIS

Update - BAH! More reports of ArcGIS 9.2 and not even in the USA! What is the point of living in America (aka USA) if you can’t get things first?

“though it could be due to my high customer number”

I’m sure it has nothing to do with your blog. ;)

    We got our copies already.

We have a high customer number too so I doubt that is the reason you didn’t get yours yet.

ArcGIS 9.2 party and everyone but James is invited! ;)

So wait, James is getting his ArcGIS 9.2 delayed because of his blog? That seems counter productive.

James is totally on a black list and will never recieve anything from ESRI again…

My closing sarcasm tag was stripped out

Yea, don’t look for any “unpacking pictures” here because I’m not on the distribution list.

Our city got ours today too. Guess you are the odd man out James.

You’d think that ESRI would make sure James got a copy first to pimp up the release. Unless 9.2 isn’t that good of course and they don’t want him writing negative posts.

Drive over to Redlands and get it. Its not that far….

Ours showed up today. You want me to take some pictures of me with the box for you? ;)

Maybe they have left off beta testers, because we haven’t got our copy yet either.

  • 13 Doug // Nov 14, 2006 at 10:25 am

Well I guess James getting his copy last just shows that he isn’t an ESRI PR spokesman.

  • 14 anon // Nov 14, 2006 at 10:56 am

I’ve seen much less ESRI on James’ blog lately (he used to announce many ESRI initiatives).

    Has there been a breakup?

  • 15 Doug // Nov 14, 2006 at 11:18 am

More likely James was waiting for 9.2 to come out. What news is there to report between the Beta ending and Final arriving?

  • 16 anon // Nov 14, 2006 at 11:27 am

You tell me Doug. I know how ESRI works with these releases, but at least to someone who is no longer on the inside, something stinks here.

you guys are reading way too much into this. Sure, the smart Web 2.0 thing to do would be to make sure James was running 9.2 and ready to spin it. Since when is ESRI Web 2.0 savy?

Of course I say this having received all our copies of 9.2. ;)

Any update James on 9.2? Did you get your copy today?

    Ours showed up just now.

  • 19 James Fee // Nov 14, 2006 at 12:16 pm

No it didn’t come today, though one of my christmas presents for my son did come.

  • 20 Leslie // Nov 14, 2006 at 7:30 pm

My guess is the marketing team has stolen your copies of ArcGIS because you have been so hard on them.

We got our stand along arcview today, but not the ArcInfo.

We got ours today, installing right now.
