The Unofficial ESRI Developer Summit Contest

2006 ESRI Developer SummitSteve’s got the contest announcement up right now (glad to see he actually remembered his blog admin password).

If you are going to be at the Developer Summit in March, make sure you come to our contest Thursday night (the 16th). If you have developed a .NET or Java (or even a really cool MapObjects) application you can demo it for us and win a prize (trust me, these prizes will be most sought after when you see them). I can’t think of a better time or place to show the ESRI developer world your best application. I’ll bring my fancy new ArcIMS application (.NET of course and maybe even updated for 9.2) to get things started even though I won’t be eligible for any prize or fame. Trust me, we’ll have a blast!

What a great idea! I’ll be there. I have to get some sort of application developed for the contest, but that should be fun.

  2. Derek Baker says:

This is the kind of stuff I’m excited to see at an ESRI event. Nothing like a bunch of programmers getting together and having fun!

  3. Brian Flood says:

What about using the 9.2 beta stuff? How about ArcGIS Explorer apps? Does it have to be ArcEngine or AGS?

    cheers

    Brian,

Pretty much as long as it uses some ESRI product and Java or .NET, it should be fine (I’m a MapObjects fan so I’m letting them in even though it isn’t really .NET).

  5. [...] You might remember that Steve Citron-Pousty and myself are putting on a little “contest” Thursday night before the Develop Summit. If you are going to be around we’d love to have you drop by and meet everyone. We are still trying to figure out where/how to have the contest because we are a little unsure of how many people plan to show up. Remember there will be some “sweet” prizes for those who can display the “best” GIS application that uses ESRI products in some way. We’ll make sure that there is an internet connection, and projector. All you need to do is show your best code and then you just might get tons of love in front of all the GIS “influentials” at the summit. Just respond if you think you’ll be there for the meetup and if you want to demo something. Remember, it doesn’t matter how polished it is or how good your speaking skills are. Just show something really cool and you might get a prize. [...]
